ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan had a heated debate on the gas crisis as Cabinet members allegedly raised questions about gas load shedding.
According to details, the internal story of the federal cabinet meeting held yesterday under the chairmanship of PM Imran Khan came to light. Private TV sources said that government members questioned the gas crisis in the federal cabinet meeting.
During the Federal Cabinet meeting, Trade Adviser Abdul Razzaq Dawood said that if the export industry does not get gas then exports will be affected. According to sources, Hammad Azhar answered the questions raised by the trade adviser.
According to sources, Hammad Azhar, while comparing the industry’s claims with the government’s survey, said that the industry says 35% of businesses are closed while the official survey says that 95% of the work in the industry is ongoing.

According to the claim, Hammad Azhar, while acknowledging the gas shutdown to the captive plants of the export industry, said that the supply to the processing units has been continued. The prime minister formed a three-member committee to review the issues of gas supply.
The committee included Finance Advisor Shaukat Tarin, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, and Trade and Investment Adviser Razzaq Dawood. Sources said that the prime minister appreciated only Pervez Khattak in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections and other issues were also considered in the cabinet.
