The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is set to announce a comprehensive Kisan Package for wheat farmers on Tuesday. The package aims to protect farmers’ interests while ensuring stable flour prices for consumers.
Chairing a special meeting ahead of the announcement, CM Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to fulfilling the promises she made during the wheat harvesting season. She declared that the upcoming package would be “unique, exceptional, and highly beneficial” for wheat growers across the province.
“Insha’Allah (By the grace of God), our hardworking farmers will be fully rewarded for their efforts,” said the chief minister, emphasizing that the government will not let flour prices rise nor allow farmers to suffer losses.
Maryam Nawaz lauded the dedication of the farming community, noting that Punjab has successfully achieved its wheat cultivation targets. She credited the record crop yield to the efforts of farmers who, she said, had responded enthusiastically to her appeal for greater productivity.
“Our farmer brothers worked day and night and cultivated a historic wheat crop,” she remarked. “Now it is our turn to ensure they are compensated justly.”
The CM further stated that the government seeks to strike a balance — making flour affordable for the public while providing farmers with fair and profitable returns.
This much-anticipated Kisan Package is expected to include policy measures and incentives aimed at stabilizing wheat prices, supporting farm incomes, and enhancing food security in the province. Full details of the package will be revealed during Tuesday’s official announcement.
