KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Alamgir Khan has accused the officials of Karachi’s Brigade police station of demanding bribe from a person, illegally detained according to family.
According to a video posted on social media, PTI MNA Alamgir Khan said that the officials of the Brigade police station has illegally arrested an innocent person, and seized a vehicle loaded with new motorcycles.

Alamgir Khan further claimed that the police officials later demanded Rs20,000 as bribe from the relatives of the detained person for his release. In the video, Alamgir Khan throws money in front of one of the officials and said, “I am ready to pay bribe but release the person.”
The family of the detained person informed that they have provided every legal document but still the police officials were not releasing the detainee.
When contacted by M.M News, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Karachi’s Brigade police station has denied the claims of PTI MNA Alamgir Khan and claimed that no officials of the Brigade police station can demand bribe from any innocent citizens.
“CCTV cameras are installed in Brigade police station, which are operated from CCPO headquarter. If any official demand bribe from any citizen it will be recorded,” he claimed.
