According to the details, the terrorists stopped the train inside a tunnel, they blew up the rail track first and opened heavy fire on the train before taking hundreds of people hostage.
According to sources, around 6 terrorists opened fire on the train, causing panic among the passengers. Several people, including the train driver, were injured. The driver of the train was shot first.

After receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. Due to the large number of passengers on the train, the security forces have initially surrounded the entire area.
Emergency has been imposed in all hospitals of Quetta and Sabi. Several explosions were heard on the train.
After this incident, the movement of main trains across Balochistan has been stopped and special alerts have been issued for the transport traveling on the roads.
Following reports of heavy firing on the Quetta-Peshawar bound Jaffar Express, Balochistan government spokesman Shahid Rand said that ambulances, security forces personnel and a train have been rushed to the scene.
He said access to the area is difficult due to the mountainous terrain. An emergency has been declared at the hospital, the spokesman said.
