KARACHI: Acting on its strategy to counter the ongoing anti-government campaign of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) held a rally in Karachi today (Sunday).
According to details, the rally was attended by a large number of workers including the central leadership, members of the provincial and national assemblies.
The demonstrators condemned senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ayaz Sadiq’s comments in the National Assembly and also expressed solidarity with the armed forces.
Sindh Assembly opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi, while addressing the participants said, “We want to tell Pakistan’s enemies that we stand shoulder to shoulder with our army,” adding that the army was known as a great force across the world.
Accusing the Pakistan Democratic Movement of being preoccupied with politics, he claimed the opposition alliance had failed to pay any heed to Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He further said that Pakistan was now on the path of development and the country’s was improving. Addressing the gathering, PTI Karachi President Khurram Sher Zaman said that the entire nation has gathered here to pay homage to the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
“The purpose of the rally is to express solidarity with the Pakistani forces and institutions and to send a clear message to these unscrupulous people that such statements cannot take the love of Pakistan Army out of the hearts of patriotic Pakistanis,” he concluded.
