PTI emerges as largest party due to unwavering efforts of PM: Ali Zaidi

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had emerged as the largest political party in the country due to the unwavering efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

On a social media website Twitter, the minister said the PTI was started its parliamentary politics journey from zero seats in the general elections in 1997.

the PTI had also emerged as one of the largest political parties in the Senate. He further said in general elections 2002, the PTI won only one National Assembly seat and one provincial seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa he said.

Ali Zaidi said despite boycotting elections in 2008, the PTI formed a government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and also won 34 seats in the National Assembly in general elections 2013.

In general elections 2018, the PTI emerged as the biggest political party and also formed governments in two provinces Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa besides in center, he added.

Earlier, Ali Zaidi had said that the astute leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has ended capitalism and nepotism.

The federal minister in a tweet wrote that the protocol culture of family members of elected officials, using taxpayers’ money to accumulate personal assets instead of building the nation.

“The astute leadership of Imran Khan ended the dynastic rule driven by crony capitalism & nepotism. The protocol culture of family members of elected officials, using taxpayers money to accumulate personal assets instead of building the nation,” he added.
