In various parts of the country, including Karachi, a slowdown in internet speed is being observed, which PTCL has attributed to a technical fault, as reported by national media.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL), a fault has occurred in a submarine internet cable near the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson stated that due to a cut in this cable, internet speed in some areas of Pakistan has been affected, and the service may slow down especially during peak hours.
PTCL stated that efforts are underway to maintain services through alternative bandwidth in order to provide better facilities to users.
PTCL officials added that the situation is being continuously monitored and improvement is expected soon.
Frequent internet issues in Pakistan cause difficulties for students who rely on online classes and research, as well as freelancers and professionals who work with international clients.
