ISLAMABAD: Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the secretary-general of the Muslim World League (MWL), arrived in Islamabad on Sunday for a nine-day visit to Pakistan, as confirmed by Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs. During his stay, he is scheduled to lead the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the iconic Faisal Mosque later this week.
The MWL, headquartered in Makkah, is a prominent non-governmental organization representing Muslims worldwide. Dr. Al-Issa is hailed by the MWL as a pioneering figure for his efforts in fostering partnerships among diverse communities, faiths, and nations. A respected Saudi religious scholar, he notably delivered the Hajj sermon in 2022.
Upon their arrival at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi on Sunday night, Dr. Issa and his delegation received a warm welcome from Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, and Dr. Syed Ata Ur Rehman, the federal secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs.
During his visit, Dr. Al-Issa will preside over the Eidul Fitr prayer at the Faisal Mosque, one of the largest mosques globally, situated in Islamabad. Additionally, he will inaugurate the groundbreaking Seerat-un-Nabi Museum, the first of its kind in Pakistan, dedicated to exhibiting relics and utilizing modern technologies like virtual and augmented realities to illuminate the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).
