ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has summoned a session of the Senate on Monday (Dec 12) under Article 54 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

The session is summoned at 1500HRS in the upper house of the parliament, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
It may be recalled that in October’s session, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani prorogued the proceedings when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators demanded issuance of production orders of Senator Azam Sawati.

Senator Azam Swati is reported to have been shifted to Sindh from Quetta after Balochistan High Court quashed all FIRs registered against him across the province over his controversial statements.
