The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a principled decision not to give a new contract to head coach of the women’s cricket team Muhammad Wasim.
According to sources, it has been decided to remove Muhammad Wasim from the post of head coach. A new head coach is likely to be appointed in his place next week.
Muhammad Wasim was made the head coach of the national women’s team in 2024. Now the reasons for his removal have come to light.
According to sources, the Pakistan women’s team continued to decline under Muhammad Wasim’s coaching; despite receiving full support from the board, Muhammad Wasim failed to produce results.
Contrary to claims, the team could not win a single match of the Women’s World Cup. Complaints have also come to light that despite being the head coach, he did not coach the players.
Muhammad Wasim himself was a batsman, but the women’s team’s batting was the weakest. His behaviour was erratic, as his relations with the bowling and batting coaches and players were also not good.
Along with being the head coach, he was also involved in the selection of the team and made appointments of support staff at will, but still the results remained zero. According to sources, the women’s team continued to decline in the bowling department, and the team’s fielding also failed to improve.
