A video is making rounds on social media showing pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau making their first public appearance as a couple. The clip, shared on Instagram, includes the caption: “It is official, we are dating.”
The 41-year-old singer and the 53-year-old politician were seen together on Saturday, October 25, attending a cabaret show at the Crazy Horse Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday, according to TMZ.
Photos from the night show Perry and Trudeau walking out of the theater hand in hand, smiling at photographers. Perry wore a bright red dress, while Trudeau kept his look simple in an all-black outfit.

This is the couple’s first official outing together after months of speculation about their relationship. Rumors first began in the summer when they were spotted having dinner in Montreal, Canada. At the time, Perry had recently ended her engagement with actor Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau had separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
The pair were later photographed in September sharing a kiss on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, fueling more dating rumors. Sources told People magazine that Trudeau had been “pursuing” Perry since their first meetings in Montreal, adding that the two share an “easy connection.”
Perry is currently on her Lifetimes Tour, performing songs from her latest album 143 as well as some of her biggest hits, including “Roar,” “Firework,” and “California Gurls.”
The new couple’s Paris outing comes as Perry continues her world tour, and as fans celebrate both her birthday and her new relationship.
