KARACHI: An alleged policeman, who snatched a motorcycle from a citizen in North Nazimabad area, turned out to be ‘imposter’, according to the police.
When contacted by M.M News, police officials have informed that they have arrested the accused, identified as Syed Kamran Ali. The police have also recovered a motorcycle with government number plate.
A first Information Report (FIR) has also been registered against him for personation, misuse of licensed weapons, attempt to snatching, and attempt to kidnapping. “The police card recovered from the accused is also fake, while the recovered weapons are also illegal,” the police added.
It is pertinent to mention here that a video of a snatching bid near Five Star Chowrangi got viral on social media showing alleged muggers trying to deprive a citizen of his two-wheeler.
Earlier it was reported that the fake cop was member of Sindh Police Investigations and was deployed at Bilawal House. After the video circulated on social media, police high-ups took notice of it and initiated an inquiry to trace the suspect.
