KARACHI: Former federal minister of state for railways and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader Jadam Mangrio passed away due to COVID-19.
Mangrio was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi where he passed away. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Debo village amid hundreds of relatives and supporters.
He hailed from Umerkot district of Sindh and served as adviser for Minerals and Mines and Federal Minister for State for Railways during his political career.
He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from March 2008 to March 2013. He was elected as a candidate of PML-F from NA-234 constituency (Sanghar-I) in the 2008 general election.
He ran for the seat of the Sindh Assembly as a candidate of PML-F from PS-69 (Umerkot-cum-Sanghar) constituency in 2013 general elections but was unsuccessful. He lost to Syed Sardar Ali Shah of the Pakistan People’s Party.
Earlier on October 15, PP leader and Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Political Affairs Rashid Rabbani had breathed his last after suffering from the coronavirus. He was on a ventilator for the past few days after suffering from severe symptoms of the virus.
