Karachi experienced hot and sunny weather on Saturday, though the sea breeze has begun to partially return, offering some relief. Meteorologists expect sea winds to fully normalize by Sunday, with light drizzles likely in the early morning and at night.
The next monsoon spell is anticipated to affect Karachi starting July 15, bringing light rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, expected to continue through July 17.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate rain with wind and thunderstorms is also forecasted for Sindh districts, including Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Hyderabad during the same period.
The PMD reports that moist currents are entering the country and are likely to strengthen from July 13, with a new westerly wave expected to arrive by the evening of the same day.
Under this weather system, rain with wind and thunderstorms, including scattered heavy to very heavy downpours, is expected in northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan from July 13 to 16.
Authorities have issued warnings of possible flooding in hill torrents, rain-fed streams, and local drains, particularly in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, northeastern Punjab, Balochistan, and Kashmir, due to heavy rainfall from July 13 to 14.
