ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the federal cabinet meeting today to discuss a 5-point agenda via video conference.
The prime minister has summoned a meeting in Islamabad. During the meeting, the federal cabinet will approve the exemption of sales tax for the construction industry, while the cabinet will approve for the restructuring of the national commission on minorities.
The approval of proposals regarding the restructuring of competitive commission is also included in the cabinet agenda. The meeting will also discuss the situation arising out of the coronavirus in the country.
During the last meeting, the federal cabinet had approved extension in the countrywide lockdown for two more weeks in order to stop the spread of coronavirus cases.
Earlier today, the prime minister released a message and appealed people to stay home as much as possible during coronavirus pandemic. “More people show self-discipline, the easier it will be for us to manage the COVID-19 plus ease the lockdown gradually,” he asserted.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has already expressed fears that the coronavirus cases across the country may increase by 20th May, saying that his government was concerned about the impact it would have on the poor segments of society.
