PM obliquely invites President Putin to visit Pakistan
NEW YORK: Prime Minister Imran Khan has obliquely invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Pakistan on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
During a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in New York, the prime minister said, “Our people are waiting for President Putin to visit Pakistan.”
As per details, in the meeting, the matters of mutual interests, the deteriorating situation in Indian occupied Kashmir (Iok), bilateral relations and other issues came under the discussion.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Russia have maintained close contact following the unilateral and illegal Indian actions of 5th August in IoK.
Views were also exchanged on the Afghan peace process. Speaking on the occasion, Sergey Lavrov said that Russia would support Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.
