The funeral prayers for three Rangers officials who were martyred during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest were held at Chaklala Garrison.
According to a report by Pak Observer on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and other senior civil and military officials attended the ceremony.
The martyred officials were identified as Naik Muhammad Ramzan (47, from District Karak), Sepoy Gulfam Khan (29, from District Rawalpindi), and Sepoy Shah Nawaz (33, from District Sibi). They lost their lives during Monday’s incident.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan cannot afford chaos and bloodshed driven by political agendas. He condemned the violence, stating, “These acts are unacceptable and test the limits of restraint by law enforcement agencies.
“The nation pays tribute to the martyred Rangers and police officials, as well as those injured during the riots,” the Prime Minister said while offering prayers for the fallen soldiers in Rawalpindi alongside other attendees.
