ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of defaming army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for “exposing corruption syndicate.”
In a tweet posted on Saturday, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that such statements reflected a “diseased and obsessive mindset.”
The PM claimed that General Asim Munir, who served as the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief during the PTI government, exposed the corruption syndicate of Imran Niazi, which was why he was defaming the army chief from day one. He also alleged that the PTI “goons” committed acts of “terrorism” at the party chief’s behest.

The accusations made by PM Shehbaz Sharif against PM Imran Khan are likely to escalate political tensions in the country. It is expected that the PTI government will respond strongly to these allegations. The public reaction to the news will be closely monitored as it may further deepen the divide between supporters of the two political parties.
