Petrol dealers warn of supply crunch as oil marketing companies limit deliveries

petrol price in Pakistan June 27, 2026

Oil marketing companies have significantly reduced fuel supplies to petrol stations, affecting both urban and rural areas across Punjab, according to the Petroleum Dealers Association Central Punjab.

Association President Chaudhry Nauman Majeed said that petrol pumps received only around 50% of the fuel required to meet demand on Friday. He attributed the reduction in supply to rising crude oil prices in the international market.

He said the limited deliveries have affected nearly 90% of petrol pumps in rural areas and about 50% of those in urban centres.

Meanwhile, oil marketing companies said delays in customs clearance have disrupted the supply chain.

They urged the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to ensure the uninterrupted availability of petroleum products across the country.

The companies also argued that a system of changing petroleum prices on a daily basis is impractical, saying such frequent revisions are neither in the public interest nor conducive to business operations.
