Peshawar University has taken notice and sought a report within three days after a video showing mixed-gender and allegedly inappropriate modelling by students during a welcome party went viral on social media, triggering a strong public backlash.
The welcome party was held on 15 January at the University of Peshawar’s Institute of Health Sciences.
Footage from the event, showing male and female students participating in modelling activities, spread widely online and sparked significant controversy.
Following the uproar, the university administration took notice of the incident and formed a six-member committee to investigate the matter.
According to an official statement, the committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident that occurred during the welcome party at the Institute of Health Sciences.
The panel will examine all aspects of the event and establish the relevant facts.
The statement further said that the committee will complete its investigation and submit its report within three days, after which the university will decide on the future course of action.
