Acting on behalf of the President of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali bestowed presidential civil awards upon 58 prominent figures of the province for their exemplary services in different domains of life on Saturday.
Noor Deen Ilyas, a cobbler from Peshawar also known as Chacha, was among those who received the award. Chacha, famous for making ‘Captain Chapel,’ was honored with the presidential Pride of Performance award.
Chacha had gifted Captain Chapel to former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan, which brought him nationwide recognition. He also crafted the Peshawari Chapel named Prison No.804, dedicated to Imran Khan.
Moreover, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali presented the presidential civil award Tamgha-i-Imtiaz to Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali for his services in the domain of public service. Similarly, 36 other prominent figures of the province were bestowed with the presidential civil award of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on Saturday.
Ismat Jabeen Afridi and Dr. Nadeem Jan received the presidential award Sitara-i-Imtiaz for their services. Six people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were awarded the presidential award Tamgha-i-Shujat, while 14 individuals received the presidential Pride of Performance award.
