ISLAMABAD: The countrywide COVID-19 tests positivity ratio stands at 3.96 percent with a slight increase in the number of virus infections on Sunday.
According to the National Command and Operating Centre (NCOC), the highest positivity rate of Covid-19 cases was recorded in Hyderabad at 11.57 percent in the past 24 hours followed by Peshawar with 11.29 percent.
As per NCOC data, Sindh recorded the highest Covid-19 positivity ratio at 10.23, followed by Azad Jammu and Kashmir 5.97 percent, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 5.25 percent, Balochistan 3.52 percent, Punjab 2.54 percent, Islamabad 1.18 percent and Gilgit Baltistan 0.56 percent.
The positivity rate of COVID-19 tests in Karachi was recorded 10.68 percent, Lahore 4.23 percent, Bahawalpur 4.46 percent, Swat 3.41percent, Faisalabad 3.21percent, Quetta 2.41percent, Mirpur 5.04 percent and Muzaffarabad 2.50 percent.
The global epidemic coronavirus has claimed 48 more lives in Pakistan and the total death toll has risen to 11,295 on Sunday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), Pakistan has reported 48 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel COVID-19 as the number of positive cases surged to 532,412.
NCOC in its daily COVID-19 update report said 1,594 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
Till now 240,570 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 153,410 in Punjab 65,287 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 40,713 in Islamabad, 18,736 in Balochistan, 8,795 in Azad Kashmir and 4,901 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore, 4,561 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 3,888 in Sindh, 1,832 in KP, 465 in Islamabad, 254 in Azad Kashmir, 193 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 7,642,665 coronavirus tests and 40,285 in the last 24 hours. 486,489 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,070 patients are in critical condition.
