ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Kingdom virtually held the fifth round of bilateral consultations on arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament.
During the talks, Director-General Arms Control and Disarmament at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Kamran Akhtar represented Pakistan. The British side was led by UK Director Defence and International Security Samantha Job
Both sides discussed issues on arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament in a cordial and constructive environment. Issues related to global and regional security and stability also came under discussion. The two sides expressed commitment to further enhance coordination on multilateral forums.
They appreciated the continuation consultations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Both agreed to hold the sixth round of Consultations next year on a mutually agreed date.
