ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Services has revealed that Pakistan successfully administers 100 million COVID vaccine doses.
Dr. Faisal Sultan, PM’s special assistant on Health Services while taking on his Twitter account posted that, “Pakistan administers its 100 millionth Covid vaccine dose”. Furthermore, he added, “I want to thank everyone who has made it possible from the public to vaccination staff to health and administrative staff and leadership across the provinces.”

Moreover, National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) also confirms the achievement by sharing it on its Twitter account, which reads, “Landmark of administering 100 M doses achieved! Well done Pakistan”. Meanwhile, 552 more people were infected with the virus claiming 15 more lives on Saturday, according to NCOC.

Reportedly, a total of 39,179 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which 552 turned out to be positive, showing an infection rate of 1.4 percent. Earlier, NCOC head Asad Umar has stressed the need for meeting the vaccination targets to avoid the fifth wave of COVID-19. He said if a large number of people remain unvaccinated, we remain vulnerable despite the sharp decline in cases. The Minister added that the second dose is vital for protection against COVID-19.
