In the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan have set a target of 165 runs for England.
Playing in Pallekele, Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bat first.
Pakistan posted 164 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs, with Sahibzada Farhan top-scoring with an impressive 63 runs.
For the match against England, Pakistan made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Shaheen Afridi in place of Faheem Ashraf.
The Pakistan line-up includes captain Salman Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Usman Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Salman Mirza, Usman Tariq, Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan.
England, meanwhile, have named an unchanged side.
Pakistan scored 164 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs against England. Saim Ayub was dismissed for 7, Salman Agha for 5, and Babar Azam for 25.
Sahibzada Farhan once again played a fine innings, completing his half-century. He scored 63 runs off 45 deliveries.
It is worth noting that Pakistan’s first Super 8 match against New Zealand national cricket team was abandoned due to rain, with both teams awarded one point each.
