ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: On the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a special relief consignment has been dispatched for the earthquake victims of Syria through a charter flight from Islamabad on Wednesday.

Syrian Ambassador to Islamabad and Minister for Education Rana Tanveer were also present on this occasion.
The relief items include tents and blankets. Officials said Pakistan had assured full cooperation to Syria in this hour of difficulty, and would soon send more relief items to Syria and Turkiye via road.

Meanwhile, another C-130 aircraft of Pakistan Air Force carrying tents, blankets and essential items is reported to have reached Turkey.
According to a Spokesperson of Pakistan Air Force, the C-130 Hercules aircraft is carrying 18634 pounds of humanitarian assistance relief goods from people of Pakistan for the earthquake affected brethren of Turkey.

Pakistan Air Force is also making all-out efforts to repatriate stranded Pakistani students in coordination with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan Embassy in Turkey.
