ISLAMABAD: A total of 2,870 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while 40 more civilians have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,494,293 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 29,917 people lost their lives to the virus.
In the last 24 hours, 51,677 tests were performed to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 25,948,435. Nationwide, the test result was 5.55 percent, while 1,495 patients were in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, 4,692 people have beaten coronavirus across the country, bringing the total number of healthy people to 1,393,209. The active cases of the virus are 71,167 while the death rate remains at 2 percent.

The highest number of corona cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab where 497,307 people fell victim to the virus while 13,403 died. In Sindh, 561,683 cases of corona and 8,099 deaths were reported.
In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 213,021 people fell victim to coronavirus while 6,167 died. In Balochistan, 35,163 cases of the virus were reported while 371 civilians lost their lives.
In Azad Kashmir, 42,316 people were infected with coronavirus and 776 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 11,274 cases and 189 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, 1,33,529 people were infected with the virus and 1,002 died.
