KARACHI: In the last 24 hours, at least 44 more people have died of the global coronavirus in Pakistan.
The total number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has risen to 23,131. According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), another 4,119 cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 1,015,827. As per the NCOC, 52,291 tests were performed on the virus in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, the rate of coronavirus positive cases was 7.8 percent. Islamabad had 86,226 cases, in Balochistan 29,861, in Azad Kashmir 23,370, and in Gilgit In Baltistan, it has reached 7,896.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 10,978 people have lost their lives while 5,860 in Sindh, 4,428 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 796 in Islamabad, 127 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 326 in Balochistan, and 618 in Azad Kashmir lost their lives.
It may be recalled that earlier during the fourth wave of coronavirus, it was decided to close the offices of the Chief Minister’s House in Sindh. Visitors were also barred from entering the Chief Minister’s House. The decision came two days ago to curb the Corona cases. It was also decided to close 14 departments of the Chief Minister’s House, including the Media, Protocol, and Public Complaints Cell.
