ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has begun practical measures to process and verify pending net metering applications in accordance with directives issued by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
According to details, the Power Division has initiated verification of cases involving consumers who had paid their demand notices before February 9, 2026. A comprehensive review and verification process has also been launched for other pending net metering applications.
In an official notification, the Power Division said consumers who have fulfilled all prescribed requirements will not be subjected to unnecessary delays or hurdles in the processing of their applications.
The notification further stated that connections for consumers who had completed all required stages before February 9 will be incorporated into the system without further delay, subject to verification and fulfillment of the applicable requirements.
The Power Division has also directed the Pakistan Information Technology Company (PITC) to facilitate the inclusion of eligible net metering connections into the system.
Meanwhile, the Power Division will continue to monitor implementation of NEPRA’s directives across all distribution companies (DISCOs) to ensure that the process is carried out properly.
Officials said the verification exercise is aimed at ensuring transparent, consistent and fair implementation of NEPRA’s instructions and determining the eligibility of pending net metering cases in accordance with the prescribed requirements.
The development is expected to provide clarity to consumers whose net metering applications have remained pending and ensure that eligible cases are processed without unnecessary administrative delays.
