ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is playing its role despite difficulties to expel Pakistani and foreign nationals from Afghanistan.
In an interview with private news channel, the foreign minister said that if people are to be evacuated from Afghanistan, the cooperation of the Kabul Airport administration is needed. “On Saturday and Sunday I had a discussion with the European Foreign Ministers which was very fruitful,” he added.
During the talks, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that every country of the European Union thanked us for Pakistan’s cooperation in withdrawing from Afghanistan. Talking about withdrawal from Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi added that Pakistan had issued visas to foreign nationals and deported them.

The foreign minister said that despite the difficulties, Pakistan is playing its role in Kabul. “Due to the situation in Kabul, we are working on the basis of human compassion, he said.
FM Qureshi said that whether one admits our work or not, our conscience is satisfied. The arrival of thousands of people at Kabul Airport will bring pressure, he added.
He said that allowing landing and take-off of passenger planes in Kabul was not within the jurisdiction of Pakistan. The evacuation of people requires the cooperation of the Kabul Airport administration, he asserted.
