ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s population has crossed 252 million, according to the Economic Survey 2025-26, which highlighted the country’s rapidly growing population and its far-reaching implications.
The survey revealed that Pakistan’s total population has reached 252.09 million, reflecting continued demographic growth across the country.
According to the report, the male population stands at 129.54 million, while the number of females has risen to 122.45 million.
The Economic Survey noted that the gender gap between males and females has narrowed significantly and now stands at approximately 7.1 million.
The fact sheet, released as part of the Economic Survey, underscored the challenges associated with Pakistan’s rising population, including increasing pressure on public services, infrastructure, employment opportunities and natural resources.
The survey provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s socio-economic indicators ahead of the presentation of the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
