ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force’s IL-78 aircraft landed back at PAF Base, Nur Khan after a successful mission of providing humanitarian assistance to the earthquake-stricken people of Turkey.
According to PAF spokesperson, a number of Pakistani students and families stuck in the earthquake-hit areas were evacuated through the Ilyushin-78 and returned home safely.
The Pakistani students and families expressed their gratitude for the overall efforts of Pakistan Air Force in bringing them back to Pakistan and rescuing their fellow countrymen stranded in the natural calamity abroad.
The spokesperson said that other such missions by PAF, in coordination with NDMA and MoFA, were also in queue to help the earthquake affectees.
Meanwhile, according to details of Pakistan Army USAR Team Rescue & Relief Operation gathered by MM News, search and rescue operations continued at more than 77 sites during which some 14 people had been recovered alive while more than 125 bodies were pulled out of the rubble.
