ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet is reported to have approved the deployment of the Army and Rangers for the security of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 matches.
According to multiple media reports, the summary to this effect was moved by Ministry of Interior and approved by the federal cabinet through circulation.
Earlier, the administration of Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad requested the deployment of the army and Rangers and the Pakistan Cricket Board also wrote a letter to the Federal Home Minister for the security of the PSL.
It is to be noted that the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League will start in Multan today, the matches of the event are scheduled from February 13 to March 19 in Lahore, Multan, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
Also, Singers Shae Gill, Aima Baig, Sahir Ali Bagga, Asim Azhar and Faris Shafi will perform on the stage at the opening ceremony in Multan.
