KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government and Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said more than 900 illegal buildings and constructions have already been demolished in the metropolis.
While talking to media Shah said no person or any construction company would be spared if found involved in this malpractice. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah along with government officials paid a surprise visit at Civic Centre, to the office of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).
The minister warned encroachment mafia and crooked builders that those who found involved in this malpractice would be booked under the SBCA law and awarded severe punishments and heavy penalties.
He suggested that public complaints regarding illegal encroachments would be registered at helpline 1093. Earlier, during his surprise visit, he instructed that a cell be set up at a one-window facility of SBCA already established in collaboration with the World Bank.
He also ordered to constitute an overseas committee to resolve related problems. Secretary, Local Government Roshan Ali Shaikh was also present on this occasion.
