KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that 267 new cases of coronavirus were reported during the last 24 hours in Sindh’s capital.
At least three more deaths have also been reported in Karachi in the past 24 hours. The total count of coronavirus deaths reached 2,520 and 81 more patients recovered from the virus, said Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, adding that 1,397,676 samples were tested in Sindh.
In Sindh, 138,050 confirmed cases were reported so far and 130,811 patients recovered from the coronavirus. He said that 4,719 patients including 201in critical condition and 39 on ventilators were currently admitted in different hospitals.

The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has reached 16,713. 99,665 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,908 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,323 in Balochistan, 3,816 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 2,776 in Azad Kashmir.
The coronavirus has claimed 2,238 deaths in Punjab and 2,517 in Sindh, while the death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,260, Islamabad 183, Balochistan 146, Gilgit-Baltistan 88 and Azad Kashmir 75.
Due to the rising number of cases in Karachi, Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Sodhar had directed authorities to impose a micro smart lockdown in several areas of Karachi’s South district.
The lockdown was imposed in an apartment located in the district’s sub-division Civil Lines, according to a notification issued. It was also imposed in the sub-division Saddar.
