An Arab citizen in Israel has been arrested for allegedly expressing support for Iran by sharing an image of the Iranian flag accompanied by a salute emoji on social media.
According to Israeli police, the individual had posted a stock photo featuring the Iranian flag, along with the salute emoji and a song by a Turkish rapper titled Illegal Life.
Authorities arrested the suspect on suspicion of supporting terrorist organizations and showing sympathy for hostile entities through his social media activity.
Prosecutors have submitted a declaration of intent to indict him in court, and the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court has extended his detention. Police officials stated that formal charges are expected to be filed within the coming days.
