ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary has asserted that the 11-party alliance, under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), has failed to secure the support of the masses.
“The country will now move towards political stability following the failure of the movement of opposition parties,” he said, while addressing a press conference along with Special Assistant on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill.
“The people of this country value the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces for the defense and security of the country,” he said, the narrative of the PML-N and former premier Nawaz Sharif no longer has currency.
“Listen to Maryam’s speech from yesterday. All she talked about was herself, her father, her uncle, her brother, [said] Imran Khan is very bad and then the speech ended,” he said.
He further said that those in Parliament needed to review their current strategy. “Only a fool would consider it a weakness when the government talks about dialogue. We want political unity and for that, it is important to sit down and talk about big issues,” he remarked.
“PM Imran and the government are not going anywhere and you cannot send them away. Despite this we want the doors for dialogue to remain open,” he said. However, the minister clarified that the opposition will not be given relief when it came to their corruption cases.
On the occasion, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gill said that the politics of Sharif family stands buried following the failed gathering of Minar-e-Pakistan. “The people stand with the agenda of Prime Minister Imran Khan to take forward the country on the path of progress and prosperity,” he concluded.
