RAWALPINDI: The citizens have claimed that the National Savings Center (NSC) has plundered their pensions worth Rs.2.5 million.
Abida Bibi, the daughter of one of the victims, told that her mother opened an account at the NSC and took her bonds.
About three to four months ago, a security guard at the NSC, Junaid, approached all the family members who were account holders there that a letter from the FBR had come.
According to the victim, the security guard told them to bring their bonds in order to make a clearance, she added.
“We did not understand what that security guard officer meant but we all came to the CNS Rawalpindi on the Murree Road branch the next day and submitted our bonds as directed,” she revealed.
The security guard was present when people were signing on the papers given by the bank, she added.
According to the woman, the security guard said, “now I will clear these bonds from FBR and return them to you.” After about a month, when we went to the NSC and asked for our bonds, the guard and the management of the bank refused to return the bonds and denied receiving it.
Regarding pension fraud, the woman said that when they further investigated, they came to know that the NSC had taken their money by cash and the entire NSC management was involved in this scheme.
Describing the current situation, Abida said that no contact has been made with the police.
Bibi asked also questioned Prime Minister Imran Khan, “Why are we still deprived of justice even though we are residents of the state of Madina?”
