ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has said that Pakistan’s policy towards Israel is clear and no proposal regarding recognition of Israel is under consideration.
During a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesman said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Afghanistan was significant. “Pakistan will continue to play a role for peace and stability in Afghanistan,” he asserted.
FO spokesperson Zahid Hafeez said that Indian forces were engaged in human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. “India is killing Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir. The county is trying to divert attention from the Kashmir issue by making allegations against Pakistan,” he maintained.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez said that India could not suppress the spirit of Kashmiris by committing atrocities. Earlier this month, Indian troops had martyred 14 Kashmiri people in IoK.

The international community should conduct an independent inquiry into the extrajudicial killings of Kashmiris. In this regard, the Foreign Minister has sent letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council. He said that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood would hold meetings with the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries.
Responding to a question, the FO Spokesperson informed that Pakistan looks forward to working with the US new administration to further strengthen bilateral ties and to continue partnership to achieve peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Zahid Hafeez expressed hope that the US administration would take notice of the grave human rights violations in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOK).
Commenting on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the spokesperson said CPEC was a transformational project and is positively contributing to Pakistan’s economy, national development, and regional growth.
He further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chinese President Xi Jinping, in their meetings, reached consensus on further promoting and expanding CPEC as a High-Quality Demonstration Project of Belt and Road Initiative.
We also welcome third countries to invest in CPEC’s Special Economic Zones. We are in consultations with China on further expanding CPEC and making it a centrepiece for regional connectivity and prosperity,” he concluded.
