New Zealand secured a dominant 150-run victory over Pakistan in the fourth T20I on Sunday, sealing the series at Mount Maunganui.
After Pakistan’s skipper Salman Agha won the toss and chose to bowl first, New Zealand capitalized on the opportunity with an explosive batting display.
Finn Allen blazed his way to a quick-fire 50 off 20 balls, while Tim Seifert contributed 44 off 22. Michael Bracewell provided a strong finish with an unbeaten 46 off 26 balls, helping New Zealand post an imposing 220/6 in 20 overs.
On the bowling front, Haris Rauf claimed three wickets for Pakistan, with Abrar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi picking up two and one wicket, respectively.
In response, Pakistan faltered in their chase of the daunting 221-run target, collapsing for a mere 105 in just 17 overs.
The top order crumbled early, leaving the team struggling at 34-4 within five overs. Irfan Khan Niazi was the lone performer in the top seven, scoring 24 runs off 16 balls, while the rest of the batters failed to make a significant impact.
New Zealand’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup and maintaining control by the halfway mark. The win underscored the Kiwis’ all-round superiority in the crucial encounter.
