New Zealand has whitewashed Pakistan by defeating them by 43 runs in the third and final match of the ODI series played in Mount Maunganui, as reported by national media on Saturday.
According to details, before the third match against New Zealand, Pakistan’s cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and invited the host team to bat first. New Zealand scored 264 runs in 42 overs, setting a target of 265 runs for Pakistan while losing 8 wickets.
Due to rain, the match was affected by a wet outfield, and New Zealand’s innings had to be completed in 42 overs. Captain Michael Bracewell was the top scorer with 59 runs, while Pakistan’s Akif Javed took 4 wickets and Naseem Shah took 2 wickets.
Later, Pakistan’s innings began with Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq, but Imam-ul-Haq was retired hurt after being hit on the face by a throw from a fielder early in the innings. After 13 overs, Pakistan had scored 59 runs.
Pakistan’s first wicket fell at a total score of 73, the second at 97, the third at 108, the fourth at 135, and the fifth at 169, when Abdullah Shafique (33), Usman Khan (12), Babar Azam (50), Salman Ali Agha (11), and captain Mohammad Rizwan (37) were dismissed.
