ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decided to provide major relief to Karachiites by reducing power tariff by Rs7.83 per unit for July to September 2002 and October, and by Rs2.15 per unit on account of fuel cost adjustments (FCAs) for the month of October.

According to details gathered by MM News, the power regulatory authority conducted a public hearing to consider the proposed reduction, after which it decided to reduce power tariff by Rs2.15 per unit for K-Electric (KE) consumers on account of fuel cost adjustments (FCAs) for the month of October.
Similarly, NEPRA decided to lower the tariff by Rs7.83 per unit on account of quarterly fuel cost adjustments (FCAs) for July to September 2002 and October.

With the decision of the NEPRA, the K-Electric consumers will get relief of Rs3.59 billion. The NEPRA will release a detailed verdict later. However, the power regulator said that the relief granted for the month of October 2022 will not apply to lifeline customers.
