ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that the nation always witnessed a controversy on Ramadan’s moon sighting.
In this regard, Fawad Chaudhry suggested that the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee and other stakeholders should sit with the government to end the moon-sighting controversy.
According to the federal minister, it is a conspiracy against the nation of some vested interest elements exploiting the solution and misleading the public.
The Science ministry expressed that he wanted to adopt modern technology to resolve this long-standing issue with the lunar calendar.
He in this regard had also asked the Chairman of Ruet-i-Hilal committee to attend the meetings to predict key dates and months of the Islamic Calendar.
Fawad Chaudhry earlier claimed that Ramadan moon would be sighted country-wide on 24th April. Ruet-e-Hilal Committee gave an incorrect date of Rajab, he added.
