ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Javed Iqbal has said that taking mega corruption and embezzlement in national funds cases to the logical conclusion is the topmost priority of the anti-graft department.
Chairing a meeting here Islamabad, the NAB Chairman said the department strongly believes in conducting the inquiries and investigations of white-collar crimes on scientific lines and that too after collecting solid evidence as per the law.
Javed Iqbal said the anti-graft body is devoted to eradicating corruption in all its forms and manifestations. He said steps are being taken to check money laundering more severely.
He said the department has gained improvement in its overall performance with the support of the anti-corruption mechanism. He said inquiries and investigations of fake housing and cooperative societies would also be taken to the logical conclusion.
The meeting was informed that a total of 1275 corruption references involving Rs943 billion are at different stages of hearing in twenty-five accountability courses.
