My Birthday and PSL

MM News Staff by MM News Staff

After a long tiring day at work, I was traveling back home in public transport with joy like I was in seventh heaven as my family members were waiting for me to arrive home to celebrate my birthday. The weather was fantastic and a cool breeze was blowing away my hair off with a big smile on my face, everything was going so far so good.
However, the blessing turned into an unpleasant incident. I was stuck in heavy traffic on Shahrah-e-Faisal. The horns were loud, people were screaming, and the air was polluted with smog, the scene was quite like a fish market. I looked out of the rickshaw and tried to find out the reason for the commotion. I saw a huge line of vehicles without leaving a small gap in between and then my rickshaw driver told me that the traffic was due to the ongoing matches of the Pakistan Super League.
The rickshaw driver in a depressing mood said, “Sir, the government has blocked the roads and has increased the problems of the people who are already suffering from inflation and taxes.” At my left, there was a person on a bike and on my right side, there was another rickshaw with only the driver. Both of them agreed with my rickshaw driver while the other one started abusing government and angrily said, “The government is only here to fill their pockets and is placing burden on the nation, and now with this PSL, the people are only ones who suffer in these kinds of situations.” Here comes another person on a bike and aggressively said, “What has this PSL given to Pakistan? Will this stupid tournament provide food at our homes?” I exclaimed all are right because I was really tired to be a part of that debate and was anxiously waiting to get home.
After an hour, the traffic was cleared and once again I was on my way home. While in my ride, I thought whether these three people were correct or not. I realised that they were all wrong. The government has provided us with happiness in the face of PSL and has created a positive image of Pakistan in front of the world. Foreign players are now visiting and can now see our hospitality, how Pakistan treats its guests. Through this move, Pakistan is increasing tourism which will stabilize our economy in many ways. PSL is also affecting our economy in a positive way and job opportunities are also increasing.
The United Kingdom has relaxed its travel advisory for Pakistan amid improving the security situation in the country. Many other countries are also softening their travel advisory for Pakistan which is a piece of good news. All these achievements are directly related to PSL which is our identity in cricketing nations and a positive image has been created across the world. PSL comes for a month each year and all people should cooperate with the government in this situation. People should consider it a responsibility to present a positive image of Pakistan.
I am okay with all the problems I face because of PSL because this platform represents me infront of the world and helps the country to create a healthy image. In all of these thoughts, I reached home and celebrated my birthday with cheerfulness.
