Besides owning a holy perspective, Eid-ul-Azha is one of the notable occasions during which filmmakers release their films for families to enjoy.
However, this year during Eid-ul-Fitr, only two Pakistani movies had a theatrical release; ‘Daghabaaz Dil’ and ‘Hum Tum Aur Wo’.
But this Eid-ul-Fitr, a variety of films are being released including Urdu/Pakistani movies. So, let’s have a look at the movies being released this Eid which is likely to be observed on June 17:
1) Umro Ayyar
The upcoming Pakistani movie is a fantasy which is based on the classical Urdu-Persian novel Hamzanama’s character, Umro Ayyar, a thief and legendary warrior of Tilism-e-Hoshruba.
The movie features Sanam Saeed and Usman Mukhtar. Besides them, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring luminaries such as Faran Tahir, Ali Kazmi, Adnan Siddiqui, Simi Raheal, Sana Fakhar, Manzar Sehbai, Daniyal Raheal, Salmaan Shaukat, Osama Karamat, Uloomi Karim, Asad Chaudhary, Atif Rehan Siddique, Muhammad Imran, Bilal Jutt, Ruman Ali, and Shehroz Sanaullah.
2) Bad Boys: Ride or Die (June 17)
When their late police captain gets linked to drug cartels, wisecracking Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett embark on a dangerous mission to clear his name.
Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Joe Pantoliano, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Jacob Scipio, and DJ Khaled reprise their roles from the previous film with Tasha Smith taking over the role of Theresa Burnett from Theresa Randle, who previously played the character in the last three films.
3) Abhi
Get ready for “Abhi”, starring Goher Mumtaz and Kubra Khan, hitting cinemas on Eid. Presented by Pennine Kennedy Films & GM Productions. Abhi is directed by Asad Malik. With Mumtaz also serving as a producer alongside Ali Chaudry, the film promises a compelling narrative crafted by Shoaib Rabbani in screenplay and dialogues, ensuring an enthralling cinematic experience of this year.
4) Bhediya – The Hunter
The movie is said to be a horror one featuring dark secrets of the society.
5) Inside Out 2 (June 17)
Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust have been running a successful operation by all accounts. However, when Anxiety shows up, they aren’t sure how to feel.
The film stars Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Diane Lane, and Kyle MacLachlan reprising their roles from the first film with Tony Hale (replacing Bill Hader), Liza Lapira (replacing Mindy Kaling), Maya Hawke, Ayo Edebiri, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kensington Tallman (replacing Kaitlyn Dias) joining the cast.
6) Manju Maria
