LAHORE: The alleged torture case against Pakistani actress Meera has taken a dramatic U-turn after her housemaid Yasmin retracted her earlier allegations.
In a new video statement circulating on social media, the maid has claimed that her previous statement accusing the actress of violence was generated with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and that the allegations are not true.
Maid Claims First Video Was AI-Generated, Denies Torture
In her latest statement, Yasmin said that Meera treats her well and that she is still working at the actress’s residence in DHA Phase 5, Lahore. She claimed that the earlier video in which she alleged injuries on her face and body due to Meera’s violence was not hers and was created using AI.
This new statement directly contradicts her previous stance in which she had called for immediate action against the actress, claiming she was not mentally sound.

How The Controversy Started
The matter came to light after alleged CCTV footage purportedly showing Meera in a heated argument with her domestic worker went viral. The footage appeared to show the actress pushing and slapping the maid, sparking widespread outrage on social media and calls for a transparent investigation.
Following the viral clip, Yasmin’s first video statement had surfaced, in which she appealed to authorities for justice and alleged repeated physical abuse.
Contradictory Statements Fuel Confusion
The emergence of two contradictory statements from the same person has created confusion and triggered a fresh debate online.
While a section of social media is questioning whether the maid was pressured into changing her statement, others are pointing to the growing misuse of AI tools to defame public figures.
Due to the conflicting accounts, questions are now being raised regarding the truth of the entire matter.
Meera’s Past Controversies
This is not the first time Meera has faced such allegations. Along with her film career, the actress has frequently been in the news for controversial statements. In the past, her name had also surfaced in a case of alleged abuse and violence involving a makeup artist.
