Morocco has renamed its 655-mile coastal expressway after US President Donald Trump, according to Arab media reports.
According to a royal decree issued by King Mohammed VI, the expressway stretching from Tiznit to the southern city of Dakhla has been officially named the Donald J. Trump Expressway.
Previously known as the Tiznit–Dakhla Expressway, the route extends approximately 655 miles (1,055 kilometres) and was constructed at an estimated cost of $1 billion.
In a message issued following the announcement, President King of Morocco for this great honour,” Trump said, adding that he hoped to have the opportunity to travel on Trump thanked King Mohammed VI for what he described as a great honour.
“I thank the King of Morocco for this great honour,” Trump said, adding that he hoped to have the opportunity to travel on the expressway in the near future.
