KARACHI: Mir Hussain, the father of slain 25-year-old entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali, has raised serious questions over the police’s handling of critical evidence surrounding the Gulistan-e-Jauhar guest house, demanding complete transparency regarding suspects, CCTV footage, and employee interrogations linked to the crime scene.
Addressing the media, Hussain expressed deep frustration over what he described as deliberate secrecy maintained by investigative authorities regarding the guest house where his son was reportedly tortured prior to his murder.

Highlighting key gaps in the ongoing investigation, Hussain criticized police for keeping the family in the dark while selectively briefing media outlets. He disclosed that key CCTV footage from the Gulistan-e-Jauhar guest house has still not been brought to light or shared with the family.
Mir Hussain said authorities have failed to provide any official record detailing the individuals arrested or those who allegedly managed to escape from the premises, adding that his family has received zero updates regarding what statements were recorded during police questioning of the guest house staff.
“No details are coming out about the guest house,” Hussain stated.
“The police give briefings to the media regarding this case, but nothing is disclosed to us. For 11 days, no government representative came to listen to parents who were constantly insisting that this was a murder.”
Faith in DIG Farooqi’s JIT over Judicial Commission
Clarifying the family’s stance on procedural oversight, Hussain firmly rejected the Sindh government’s proposal to constitute a Judicial Commission.
He revealed that when the Interior Minister and Mayor of Karachi visited to propose a judicial panel, the family formally communicated their opposition 20 minutes later.
Instead, the family expressed complete faith in the newly appointed Joint Investigation Team (JIT) headed by DIG Crime and Investigation Aamir Farooqi, citing his strong reputation.
Hussain urged authorities to attach specialized technical and forensic teams to support DIG Farooqi, adding that the family will evaluate the JIT’s progress over the next four to five days before deciding on further legal recourse.
Missing Business Partner and Technical Gaps
Hussain also questioned why investigators have failed to locate or interrogate Mir Raza’s primary business partner, who has reportedly been untraceable for 10 days.
The demand for answers regarding the guest house comes amid broader investigative changes, following court-ordered exhumation findings that confirmed pre-death physical trauma and a rear-entry bullet wound, prompting authorities to upgrade the case to Section 302 (Pre-meditated Murder) and suspend negligent field officers.
