LAHORE: Police have solved the abduction case of a four-month-old boy and safely recovered the infant from the Shahdara Town area, arresting four suspects, including two women.
The recovery was made during a joint operation carried out by the Operation Wing and Investigation Police of Shahdara Town, police officials said.
The infant, identified as Musa, had allegedly been abducted from Qazi Park in Shahdara Town. During the investigation, police traced the suspects and launched an operation near the Toll Plaza at Kala Shah Kaku.
According to Investigation In-charge Naeem Shahzad, one of the suspects, Muhammad Sohail, had handed over the abducted child to Imran, son of Manzoor Hussain. The suspect was later attempting to take the infant towards Gujrat along with his female relatives when police intercepted and arrested them.
Police said four suspects, including two women allegedly involved in the kidnapping, were taken into custody. The abducted child was recovered safely from the suspects’ possession and subsequently handed over to his family.
The family expressed gratitude to the police teams for their efforts in safely recovering the child.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said elements involved in the abduction of women and children did not deserve any concession, adding that the investigation police were committed to ensuring the rule of law and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced certificates of appreciation for the police personnel involved in the successful operation.
